I'm trying to build a budget gaming PC that can run games smoothly at 1080p on the lowest settings, aiming for around 60fps. I'm based in the US and have a budget of $1000, but I'd love to spend as little as possible. Any suggestions or build ideas? Thanks a lot!

All great advice! If you're looking to save even more, consider second-hand parts or pre-built systems that can be affordable.
Honestly, for those settings and performance, it might be worth considering a Steam Deck instead. It could offer you a better overall experience without the hassle of building a PC.
I have a GTX 1660 Ti for sale if you're interested! Might save you some hassle and fit your budget perfectly. Just hit me up!
Don’t forget to check out PC Part Picker for cost-effective build options! You can compare prices and find deals!
Check out some pinned builds on PC forums—there are plenty of budget-friendly options available. You can also use the search feature to filter by recent suggestions.
If you're serious about building a PC, I would recommend AMD AM4 or Intel LGA1700 setup. Aim for DDR4 RAM, a Ryzen 5xxx or Core iX 12xxx CPU, and make sure to grab a decent 16GB (2x8GB) RAM kit. Also, consider SSDs around $100-$150 for 1TB storage. For GPUs, you could look at the Intel ARC B580 or Nvidia RTX 5060. A solid PSU is a must too; I suggest something like the Raidmax Cobra 650w for budget builds. And don't forget a nice aftermarket cooler if you're going low wattage!
Totally agree, a solid build with good components means better performance in the long run.

Good call on the PSU! You definitely don't want to skimp there.
