Why Do Clients Need a Printer Driver for Printix Redirector?

I'm setting up Printix with a redirector in my company and I'm a bit puzzled. I understand that the printer is installed with a driver on a specific machine and that the Printix redirector will send print jobs from the client to that printer. However, I'm trying to figure out why the client also needs a driver. Can anyone clarify this for me?

It's important to have a printer driver installed on the client because the driver acts as a translator between your operating system and the printer hardware. It ensures that the print jobs are formatted correctly for the printer to understand. Without the driver on the client side, the print job may not get processed properly, even if the Printix redirector is handling the job.

That makes sense. I thought the redirector would take care of everything since it’s managing the print jobs, but I guess the driver is still crucial for proper formatting.
