Hey everyone! I've been struggling to get my Steam games to launch now that I've switched to an Nvidia GPU. Here's my setup: I recently installed Lubuntu and have been figuring things out, but gaming is a whole different story. My Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti runs fine with the Intel integrated graphics, but the games only manage about 5FPS. After installing the Nvidia drivers, whenever I try to launch any game, it gets stuck at the 'Initializing' or 'Launching' screen and then does nothing. I'm not sure what to do next. I've included some system info below. Thanks a lot for any help!

Have you considered switching to the Nouveau drivers temporarily? It might be worth a shot to see if that gets things working for you. Also, make sure your system is updated to the latest version. Some hardware doesn’t support drivers higher than version 490, so check that too!
Right off the bat, your driver seems pretty old. You really should be using a newer version, like 580, especially since the 535 driver has known issues. Also, it's worth exploring different Proton versions for your Steam games. I remember a time when my games wouldn’t start because Steam was busy updating something else. So, check if that’s happening for you too. Sometimes turning off the Steam overlay can help, and you might want to disable pre shader caching as well while you're troubleshooting.
For your issue with launching games, it’s crucial to mention that the 10 series GPU support might be limited. I’d recommend checking your system logs for any error messages. If you see anything weird, that could direct you to a solution. And definitely keep an eye on updates from Nvidia.

Also, setting up a backup with Timeshift before tinkering with driver versions is a smart move. Just in case something goes wrong.
