Is it Worth Upgrading My PC Right Now?

I'm currently using a PC with an Intel i5-10500, NVIDIA 1660 Super, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. I've got some savings, but not enough to purchase my ideal upgrade all at once. I'm considering whether I should sell my existing setup to get an AMD 9800X3D with integrated graphics and 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and then save up to buy a dedicated GPU later. I mainly play Valorant and Minecraft on a 1440p 165Hz monitor. Is the integrated GPU on the 9800X3D capable of running Valorant on low settings at around 165fps? Or should I just wait until I can afford the full upgrade?

The 9800X3D isn't known for its integrated GPU performance—it's more about the 3D v-cache. In fact, the integrated graphics are weaker than your current 1660 Super. I recommend holding off until you can afford a dedicated graphics card too. Also, if you're gaming primarily, you probably don't need 64GB of RAM; 32GB should be sufficient unless you're doing heavy multitasking or demanding applications.

Thanks for the insight! I mainly game and do some 3D design work, plus video editing, that's why I considered 64GB.

If you switch CPUs, you can still use your current graphics card instead of relying on integrated graphics. That way, you can upgrade to a new GPU later when funds allow. Consider saving a bit on RAM too—32GB is plenty for gaming, and going for 64GB might not be necessary.

I can't swap out the CPU because my current setup is too old for the upgrades I want. I think I'll just save up until I can afford everything, including a new dedicated GPU!
