I'm on the hunt for a good Linux distribution that can still run smoothly on my 2GB of RAM. I mainly play Minecraft Java, but I had a rough experience with AntiX, and I'm struggling to grasp the older versions of Debian. What distros can you recommend that would work better with my system?

I've had decent results with AntiX and find it works well with lower RAM like yours, but I get that it can be tricky. If you're looking for alternatives, try a distro with the Xfce desktop environment. Linux Mint Xfce is a solid choice. You could check it out at their official site.

Puppy Linux could be a great fit for you, but honestly, 2GB is getting pretty tight these days. If you can, consider hunting down some used hardware that's a bit newer. It could make a world of difference!

Bodhi Linux 7.0 is really good for older machines and is based on an LTS version of Ubuntu, so it should have decent compatibility. If you're still seeking light options, have a look at Q4OS too—it runs well even on very old hardware.

Have you thought about upgrading your RAM? Even bumping up to 4 or 6GB would really help with your gaming and general use, making the experience much better!

Switching from AntiX might not improve your performance, especially on an older system. If the past versions of Debian confuse you, I'd suggest looking into something user-friendly that still respects your hardware limitations.
