I'm a total newbie when it comes to building PCs. So far, the most I've done is swap out a RAM stick. I'm interested in getting a new case because I love the look of transparent ones, especially in pink, and I think my current case lacks good airflow. I'm curious about how difficult it is to move components from my old tower to a new one. How can I tell if a new case is compatible with my existing parts? Do all parts fit the same way? Is the transfer process difficult? For context, I've successfully taken apart a clothes dryer, so how would this compare? Thanks for any tips!

You're good to go! Just remember to take pictures of how everything fits together before you start. You might want to have some thermal paste ready if you're removing your CPU cooler to ensure proper heat transfer when you reassemble. Also, grab some canned air or an air blower for a quick dusting while you’re at it!
If you can take apart and reassemble a dryer, you’ll be just fine with this! Just familiarize yourself with the components and where the motherboard screws in and out. I recommend checking out a basic setup video from Linus Tech Tips to cover all your bases. You’ve got this!
Transferring parts is generally pretty straightforward! First, make sure to choose a case that fits your components—knowing whether your tower is a full or mid-tower and the size of your motherboard, like ATX, will help. You can also check compatibility on websites that allow you to input your motherboard and see which cases will work. As for the actual transfer, it’s mostly just unscrewing parts from one case and screwing them into the new one. You might have to remove a component or two to access some screws, but everything should plug back in easily. Good luck!

Thanks for the detailed advice! I feel a lot better about this now.
