Experiencing Stuttering in Rust on My New PC – Need Advice

I recently built a new PC and I'm having trouble playing Rust. Whenever I run around in the game, it stutters a lot. I checked the task manager while playing and saw that my memory usage spikes to 97%. I have an XFX Mercury 9070XT GPU and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with 32GB of Crucial Pro RAM. I'm not sure how to fix this issue or optimize my memory usage.

Rust can be really demanding on AMD systems. Sometimes the only way to improve performance is to adjust the RAM timings. Have you tried any tweaks there? It's helped me get smoother gameplay with my setup.

That’s an interesting take! I’m on a lower spec AMD setup and have been playing Rust fine with 32GB, so it might be more about the specific configurations.

If the game is using that much memory, you might be running into some kind of memory leak. I haven't heard of Rust having a major leak issue, but it’s something to consider. You could check forums for updates or patches that might mention this.

How do you check for memory leaks? Is there a tool or something that helps with that?

It sounds like Rust is hogging your memory! I turned on EXPO recently too, and I noticed it using a lot of RAM, especially when I had Discord open. You might want to keep an eye on that—I've seen it use up to 32GB! Closing background apps while you play could help.

True, I've noticed Discord can be a memory hog as well! Definitely worth a try.
