I recently upgraded to an AMD 7800 XT GPU and I'm currently using a Ryzen 5600 CPU. I'm contemplating my next upgrade—initially, I thought about upgrading my CPU, but that would require a new motherboard and RAM as well, which could add up to around 600-700 euros. Instead, I'm considering sticking with an AM4 CPU and upgrading my RAM from the current 16GB DDR4 CL22, since it's quite slow. This option would cost about 200-300 euros. Is the jump from DDR4 to DDR5 noticeable enough to justify the costs?

Honestly, in the current market, upgrading to DDR5 isn't really worth it. You're looking at a significant investment for minimal gains. The second option, upgrading your DDR4 and getting a better AM4 CPU, is definitely the smarter route.
I'd opt for AM5 if you're thinking long-term upgrades. The AM4 platform is kinda capped right now, and future-proofing your system might be worth the extra effort instead of sinking cash into DDR5.
If you truly need more RAM, consider getting an additional 16GB instead of going all the way to DDR5. It's a more budget-friendly solution right now, since you already have an AMD setup. Just keep it simple and upgrade what you can without overextending.
Stick with DDR4. The costs of switching to DDR5 are just too high for what you get, especially since you’d also need a new CPU and motherboard.
Definitely avoid the DDR5 upgrade. It doesn't make sense for your current setup, especially since DDR5 has its own issues. Just upgrade that DDR4 memory should you need more performance, but keep an eye on what you spend.

Agreed! A Ryzen 5800X (3D) with some new RAM would keep your setup strong without breaking the bank in this economy.
