Best Lightweight Linux Distro for Older PCs

I'm looking for suggestions on a lightweight Linux distribution that will work well on an older Intel PC with integrated graphics. I tried to install Bazzite, but the installation froze because of compatibility issues with the graphics hardware. I attempted to use a TTY workaround, but that didn't help either. The installation will be a solo boot as I'm wiping the drive clean. This PC is going to be for my 10-year-old son, so having a user-friendly interface similar to Windows or a Chromebook is important. The specs are a 2012 Lenovo H430, with an Intel i5 3330, 8GB of RAM.

You might want to check out MX Linux or AntiX with the XFCE desktop environment. I used them on my old ThinkPad with a core2duo, and they worked great!

I'm on an older Dell Optiplex with MX Linux KDE, and it's running smoothly with only 12GB RAM. Definitely worth a try!
