How Can I Tell if My SSD is Malfunctioning?

Hey everyone! I was in the middle of a CS:GO match on Inferno when my computer suddenly shut down. After rebooting, I was confronted with BitLocker asking for my recovery key, but unfortunately, Windows couldn't fix itself. I attempted to reset the PC and remove all files, but got stuck with an error there too. Now I'm trapped in the BIOS with no boot options showing up.

I did some research and suspect it might be related to my SSD. I removed it and reseated it, but that didn't solve anything. I also tried moving the M.2 SSD to a different slot on the motherboard, but no luck there either.

What do you think I should do next? Should I try using another M.2 SSD that I know is working to test if my SSD is truly the problem, or could the issue lie with the motherboard? I could really use some guidance. Thanks a lot!

It's possible your SSD might be failing. If it's booting into BitLocker and then failing to repair, that can be a sign. Testing with a known working M.2 SSD is a good idea. If that works without any issues, you might need to replace your SSD. Otherwise, the motherboard could be the culprit. Good luck!

Thanks for the insight! If it ends up being the motherboard, is there a way to troubleshoot that further?

Definitely sounds like an SSD issue. If you've reseated it and tried a different slot with no success, testing with another SSD is a smart move. If the replacement SSD works fine, it confirms your original SSD is likely fried.

Thanks for confirming that! I’ll get a test SSD and see how it goes.
