Is an RTX 5060 a Good GPU Upgrade for VR Sim Racing?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into PC gaming, especially sim racing, and I need some advice on upgrading my GPU for VR. I've got a bit of an older HP Pavilion setup right now:

- 400w PSU
- Intel i5 9400
- GTX 1660 Ti (currently in use)
- 16gb DDR4 RAM
- 1TB SSD
- OEM HP Pavilion case

I'm somewhat limited by my case and PSU, but I think I can manage a graphics card up to around 150w. Right now, I'm eyeing the RTX 5060, which is on sale for $300. It has 8gb of RAM, but with my current setup, I'm worried I might be held back by the CPU. I'm not planning to build a new rig just yet because I want to learn more about what I need for PC gaming, particularly for VR. Do you think the RTX 5060 is worth the investment, or should I consider other options?

The RTX 5060 should be decent for your current build. However, have you considered the RTX 3080? If you can find a used one, it might give you much better performance, especially since it comes in 10 and 12gb models. Just keep in mind that you’d need a better PSU for that. But if you're wary about upgrading too many components, then the 5060 is a valid choice.

Yeah, I get that. Upgrading the PSU could lead to being stuck with that case, and you'd likely want a complete overhaul later anyway. Just trying to see if sticking with your current setup for a bit longer by only upgrading the GPU makes sense.
