Hey everyone! I've just ordered a new build featuring the 9800X3D CPU, a Hellhound 7800XT GPU, and a Gigabyte Aorus X870 Pro motherboard. My RAM is 32GB Vengeance by Corsair with CL30 timing, and I'm using a MONTECH KING 95 Pro case with a Corsair RM750e PSU. So, while it's not the most insane setup, I think it'll do the trick for me.
Here's my question: the PSU came with only one 8-pin PCIe cable, but it also has a 12V 2x6-to-dual (8-pin 6+2) cable. My concern is whether this cable will work for the GPU or if I need to pick up another 8-pin cable. Thanks!

Your PSU should be fine! That 12V 2x6-to-dual cable is meant for GPUs with special power connectors, like the 12vhpwr. For your 7800XT, I recommend using the single 8-pin cable and then connecting one of the 8-pin ends from the 12V cable. It's best to have two separate cables going to your GPU. Also, while your CPU and GPU pairing is solid, balancing the two might've been better with a slightly cheaper CPU like the 9600X if you're mainly gaming. If you'll be upgrading your GPU soon, though, your choice of CPU makes sense. Just keep in mind that a more powerful PSU could provide extra headroom in the future!
Thanks for clarifying! I mainly do music production, so the powerful CPU was a priority for me. Gaming is a bonus, but I didn't want to overspend. So just to confirm, I should use the single 8-pin cable plus one from the 12V cable? If that’s all good, I might just get some nice standalone 8-pin cables for a cleaner setup. I thought 750W was pretty safe since PCPartPicker mentioned 560W. Do you really think I need a higher wattage? I'm just trying to be future-proof!
Sounds like a plan! Using the 8-pin plus one from the 12V setup should work perfectly. And yeah, getting those nice cables will definitely help with cable management. As for the wattage, 750W should be more than enough for your current setup, but if you ever plan on really beefing up your GPU or adding more to your system, having a bit more power can never hurt!
