I'm looking to build a gaming PC that will primarily live in my semi truck. With the recent delay of the Steam Machine, I thought I'd explore other options. My main concern is how to protect the components, especially the video card and motherboard, from the vibrations caused by driving. I don't need flashy lights or a transparent side panel, but I do need the build to be robust enough to handle the road. The PC will be turned off while I'm on the move. Budget isn't a major issue, but it needs to effectively handle mainly single-player gaming. Any tips or suggestions?

Have you considered using a gaming laptop instead? It might be way easier to handle the vibrations without worrying about damaging any parts.
Yeah, definitely look at some of those sturdy models—they usually go on sale too!
Are you seriously trying to install a full desktop rig in a semi for gaming? That's ambitious! Make sure you have proper GPU support; there are lots of support brackets out there that can help.
Vibration will definitely be a concern. Make sure your PC has thick rubber feet and consider horizontal case layouts to minimize stress on the GPU. But if you want mini-ITX, be ready to potentially spend more on those parts.
I like the horizontal case idea; I’ll check those out! Size isn't really a problem.
For a desktop build, I'd recommend getting an industrial-style case for durability. Companies like Falcon Northwest might have what you're looking for. Also, consider building a vibration-dampening shelf for extra protection!

That’s a solid idea! A gaming laptop could definitely be a more practical solution.
