Why is everything on my computer so large all of a sudden?

This morning, my computer acted up and it seemed like the touchscreen was constantly being pressed, which opened a bunch of apps. After a restart, I noticed everything on my screen is now way bigger than before. For instance, in Microsoft Outlook, the section displaying the sender's name and the preview column are oversized, making it hard to see the actual email content. The same issue occurs in Chrome, where the tabs and toolbar take up too much space. Even in Spotify, the playback controls are out of view. I'm really frustrated and need help returning everything to normal size. I can share a screenshot if that helps!

Try holding the Windows key and scrolling down with your mouse to adjust the display. If that doesn’t work, revisit your graphics drivers or check if your resolution settings are correct.

Is your laptop a Lenovo and are you running Windows 10 or 11? Sometimes, if the drivers get messed up, Windows might switch to Tablet mode automatically. Windows 11 doesn’t have a manual toggle for that, so it's worth checking. Switching to Tablet mode and then back might also reset the sizing issues.

Definitely worth trying! Sometimes the OS thinks it’s a touchscreen when it’s not, so toggling that might fix the weird sizing.

Check your display settings to make sure the scaling options aren't set to something crazy like 500%! Also, consider updating or reinstalling your graphics driver if that doesn't help.

I’m curious, with the touchscreen issue you mentioned, could it be that your screen is acting up? Maybe it's stuck in a lower resolution, like 1024x600, which could explain the oversized elements.

It sounds like your scale percentage might have been adjusted during that touchscreen glitch. Try right-clicking on your desktop, going to Display settings, and checking the Scale percentage. Set it back to 100% or 125% to see if that helps. Good luck!
