I just got my hands on a second-hand HP EliteDesk Mini 800 G1 from eBay, and I'm trying to access the BIOS to change the boot settings. I want to boot from a USB drive to install a fresh version of Windows, with plans to install Linux later on. However, when I attempt to access the BIOS, I'm only met with a black screen—no logos or sounds at all.
I've been pressing the ESC and F10 keys during boot, but it doesn't help. The same thing occurs when the Windows installer USB (created with Rufus) is plugged in. I even tried removing the blue jumper from the motherboard, but that didn't change anything.
I've also turned off Fast Boot mode in Windows and ensured that the BIOS mode is set to Legacy.
Has anyone encountered this issue and know how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Black screens can be tricky! Have you checked if the monitor is connected properly? If it’s not getting a signal, it might just look like the computer isn’t responding. If everything seems fine on that end, another thing to try is connecting a different monitor if you have one available.
It sounds like a frustrating situation! Have you tried pressing F10 multiple times as soon as you power on the PC? Just keep tapping it quickly. I know it sounds basic, but sometimes that can make a difference. If that doesn’t work, you might want to consider resetting the CMOS battery, which could help restore default BIOS settings.
I’ve been tapping it super fast right when I turn it on. Can you explain how to reset the CMOS battery? I’m not sure about that.

I’ll definitely check the monitor connection. Thanks for the suggestion! Sometimes I overlook the simple stuff.
