Hey everyone! I'm really eager to dive into learning Linux, but I'm not sure which distribution to start with. I've been a long-time Windows user and I'm a total newbie when it comes to Linux. Can anyone recommend the best Linux OS for beginners like me?

Check out the Learn Linux TV channel on YouTube! The tutorials there are really helpful for beginners. As for distributions, I recommend Linux Mint for a Windows-like experience, or Fedora for something more akin to macOS. You'll find plenty of options, and the best part is, it's all free!

I'd suggest going for Linux Mint or Ubuntu. Mint has a similar feel to Windows, which might make the transition easier. Plus, both have a lot of community support, so you can find help easily. Good luck with your Linux journey!

Try out a Live-USB version of Linux first. It lets you test out different distributions without affecting your system. You can experiment and figure out what you like best. Here are some links to get you started:
- Debian Live: https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/amd64/iso-hybrid/
- Linux Mint: https://linuxmint.com/download.php
- Ventoy: https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html
It’s a great way to learn!

I'm new to this too! My tip would be to choose a desktop environment that you like. I went with GNOME because I found it visually appealing. Then, pick a distribution based on your needs. I selected Nobara since I plan on gaming. It's all about finding what works best for you.

For beginners, I've found that Ubuntu and Fedora are really user-friendly. I started with Fedora Workstation and eventually transitioned to Fedora KDE. Both of these have simple interfaces and come with app stores, so you don't have to mess with the command line right off the bat.
