I've always liked Veeam, but lately, it's become more of a hassle than it's worth, feeling bloated and hard to manage. I'm looking for a viable alternative since we're a Hyper-V environment with around 30 VMs distributed across 5-6 hosts. Any recommendations for a solid replacement? Thanks!

If you're not averse to working with Kaseya, Datto BCDR is another great option. It's an all-in-one solution that manages everything from backups to recovery seamlessly, plus it integrates well with cloud services.
I love how it auto-tests backups; such a time saver!
Rubrik is definitely on the pricier side, but from my experience, it's a solid product compared to Veeam. I've used both and think Rubrik handles backups better overall.
Yeah, it's not cheap, but I think it's worth it. We use it at work and it really delivers.
I agree! Worth every cent for the peace of mind it gives us.
I've been hearing great things about Proxmox and its backup server too, definitely worth a look!
We've been using Cohesity and it's been fantastic for us. It's basically a set-it-and-forget-it solution with quick setup and immutable storage options. Totally recommend it if you're looking for something reliable.
For just 30 VMs, you might want to consider changing hypervisors instead of just switching backup solutions. Proxmox has a good backup system and works well with their backup server.
Just a heads up, those solutions might not handle database backups well if you're dealing with high I/O. A more database-specific tool could save you from some headaches.
Check out Commvault if you're looking for comprehensive backup solutions, but be warned, it's about ten times the cost of Veeam and can be complex to manage.
Yeah, that's why we ultimately migrated back to Veeam; Commvault was more hassle than it was worth for us.

As much as I dislike Kaseya, I have to agree, Datto's features are impressive!
