Are there any good mid-range desktop options from Apple?

I'm on the hunt for a new desktop since my current 21-inch iMac from 2024 just isn't cutting it anymore. It's surprising how my older 2020 iMac, which I upgraded to 40GB of RAM myself, is faster than the newer model I'm using in 2026. From what I see on Apple's website, the maximum memory for an iMac is 24GB unless I'm looking at a Mac Pro, which isn't ideal for me. Are there any alternatives out there, like a Mac mini or something else? I'm aiming for something powerful in the $2500 range. Any suggestions?

Check out the Mac mini and Mac Studio as solid options. They pack a punch and can handle demanding tasks really well.

You’re looking for a Mini or Studio, and don’t forget to pair it with a monitor that fits your needs. A good screen can make a real difference!

Any model with an M series CPU is going to serve you well. Even if it has less RAM, it often won't be a huge deal. Just a heads up, upgrading the RAM yourself is pretty much impossible now since they solder everything.

The M4 Mac Mini is definitely one to consider. They're around $500, so they could fit well within your budget!
