Best Portable WiFi Options for Hospital Work

Hi everyone! My dad is spending a lot of time at the hospital with his father and needs a reliable WiFi connection to continue his work while he's there. He's looking for a solid solution that isn't a public network. I remember there used to be portable devices that created their own WiFi networks. Do these still exist? I've heard about the GlocalMe Numen Air, but I'm not sure if it's a good option or if it works in Canada (specifically Alberta). Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Definitely look into a USB WiFi/LTE card or router. It's quite similar to using a phone hotspot. Just remember, you'll need a data plan to go along with it.

Have you considered just using a mobile hotspot from his phone? It's usually the easiest solution if he has a decent cell signal.

I think his hotspot isn't the best, so my mom asked me to help find something better. They're also thinking about a Starlink mini—would that work?

There are some USB LTE modems that can work pretty well. Just keep in mind you'll need a SIM card for them, plus they'll rely on a data plan.

Thanks! Any suggestions on a good one? I'm not very tech-savvy.

What you’re describing is often called a mobile WiFi or MiFi device. Those can work really well in your situation!
