Hey everyone! I recently updated my PC and my new graphics card only has DisplayPort and HDMI outputs. My current monitor is older and only has DVI and HDMI ports. I'm wondering if I need DisplayPort on both ends to enjoy the full benefits over HDMI. Is it true that an HDMI-to-HDMI cable would be more stable than using a DisplayPort-to-DVI or DisplayPort-to-HDMI setup?

For regular computer tasks, either option will work fine. Just go with whatever is easiest! But if you're aiming for high refresh rates, keep in mind that using adapters can complicate things, especially with older HDMI versions.
DVI and HDMI basically carry the same video signal; HDMI just tacks on audio and controls. If you're only using DVI or HDMI, you won't gain extra benefits from DisplayPort unless both your GPU and monitor support it natively. Honestly, a DisplayPort to HDMI cable should perform just as well as an HDMI to HDMI.
You're on the right track! In your situation, you likely won’t notice significant differences in performance between the setups you mentioned. Since your monitor has an older HDMI port, it’s probably best to stick with HDMI for now. You’ll get a consistent and stable connection without worrying about compatibility issues.
You’re spot on about using an HDMI-to-HDMI cable being the safest choice. DisplayPort's advantages primarily come into play with newer hardware setups. Since your monitor doesn’t have a DP port, going with HDMI reduces the chance of any compatibility issues or flickering that can occur with converters.
