I've been using nginx-ingress across five of my AWS EKS clusters, but since it's been archived, I need to find a replacement. I'm looking at a couple of options: Cilium and Envoy Gateway. I've heard good things about Envoy Gateway for its simplicity and ongoing updates, although I know it had some issues early on like memory leaks. I'm not really interested in complicated solutions like Istio due to its complexity and unneeded features, and I definitely want to avoid any freemium services. What would you recommend, is Envoy Gateway the best choice, or is there something else I should consider?

We switched to Traefik and have been happy with it. It's user-friendly and well-documented, but I know some folks have had mixed experiences with its performance. Still, if your team prefers simplicity, it might be worth exploring.
My director was really against Traefik due to past performance issues, so we gave it a pass, but I found the documentation straightforward when I used it.
If you're okay with managing Envoy Gateway, I’d say go for it. Also, look into HAProxy if you want to stick with the ingress API—it’s a solid choice too.
Envoy Gateway rules! It's been really effective for us and the simplicity is a plus.
I've been using Traefik and honestly, I think it's even better than nginx. It has a lot to offer, and I find it meets our needs pretty well.
I’ve heard mixed things about Traefik, but it seems like it’s gaining a good reputation.

I actually tried Envoy Gateway after Traefik but ended up going with HAProxy for its stability and performance. Just a thought! Traefik was also a contender for me, but I had performance concerns.
