I'm new to playing Steam games, mainly joining some old friends for Halo CE. I like gaming on the couch and I've set up Apollo/Artemis to stream to my OLED TV. However, my Intel GPU isn't cutting it, and there's noticeable input lag where shots register after I pull the trigger. I'm considering building a small form factor PC just for this purpose. Initially, I thought about putting it beside my TV and hardwiring it from the router with HDMI to the TV. But now I'm wondering if I should set it up in my office so I could use it as a regular PC, and just run an HDMI cable to my living room for gaming. What's the best way to minimize lag? Am I on the right track with my setup ideas?

Have you tried using Moonlight or Sunshine to stream games from your office PC to a less powerful device connected to your TV? That might help with the performance.
A Steam Machine could work well for your situation! It's designed for gaming and should handle your needs, but I get that you might want something more tailored to your specs.
I thought about a Steam Machine too, but if you're willing to shop around for used parts, you could probably build a custom setup that outperforms it for the same or even less money. What do you think?

I'm trying that with my Shield, but I’m still noticing some lag when shooting. It feels inconsistent, sometimes I can unload a clip fast, other times it feels like one trigger pull equals one shot. Also, I'm struggling to connect my Xbox controller to my laptop to see if that helps.
