I'm trying to connect my monitor, which only has a VGA port, to my graphics card. My graphics card has two DVI ports (one yellow and one white), and I purchased a VGA to DVI adapter (the white one). Unfortunately, my monitor isn't displaying anything. What am I missing?

It sounds like the issue might be with the DVI to VGA adapter. Not all DVI ports support VGA output. If your DVI port doesn’t have those extra four pins that carry VGA signals, then the adapter won't work. Make sure to check that: the lack of those pins can mean you'll need a different type of adapter. Also, some of the cheaper adapters are just passive, so they might not do the job either.
If your adapter has those four pins, it’s likely that the converter itself is faulty. It's a good idea to test with a different adapter to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes these passive adapters can be tricky, so investing in a good one can make all the difference!
