I work in Incident Management at a subsidiary company and need to send incident communications from a parent company email ([email protected]) to a large distribution list ([email protected]) at the subsidiary. The issue is that this distribution list triggers moderation in Exchange, which complicates things. Both parent.com and child.com are trusted domains, but they function as external to each other. Is there a way to configure Exchange so that emails sent from the parent company's shared mailbox can bypass the moderation requirements for the large distribution list?

Nope, that's not possible. You either need to send the email from within the tenant or consider using a third-party mailing service for this type of communication.
One of the cleanest solutions is to add that parent email to the 'bypassmoderation' list specifically for that distribution list. This way, any emails from [email protected] would go through without hitting the moderation hold.
