I'm debating whether to spend an extra $30 on the Ryzen 7 7700 instead of the Ryzen 5 9600X. The 7700 has 2 additional cores, which I think could help with performance. I'm primarily using it for both development and gaming, so I'm curious if those extra cores are worth the investment. Any thoughts?

It really depends on what you plan to do with it. If you're focusing on gaming, check some comparison videos first to see if the performance difference is significant. But for workloads that require more cores, the Ryzen 7 would definitely be better. Generally, I think the 7700 should outperform the 9600X overall.
For an extra $30, I’d say go for the Ryzen 7 7700. Those two additional cores can really help out, especially if you're running simulations or doing any multitasking. That's a solid upgrade!
What kind of development are you doing? If you're a CS major and using IDEs like IntelliJ and also working on some machine learning or data science, the additional cores in the 7700 would definitely come in handy!
Just regular full stack stuff, so I need a setup that can handle IntelliJ, browsers, and some other dev tools without issues.
