How can I fix a loose USB connection in my car?

I'm having trouble with my car's USB port, which I need to connect my phone for GPS while I play music via Bluetooth. The problem is that the USB connection is very loose, and even a slight movement of the cable can disconnect it, leading to a frustrating wait to reconnect. I've tried multiple cables, so I believe the issue is with the port itself. I'm wondering if there are any workarounds, such as a small USB adapter that can stay plugged in and then connect to my phone via the Type-C port. Does anyone know if something like that exists?

One straightforward solution is to replace the faulty USB port in your car. I know it sounds like a hassle, but if it's really loose, fixing it permanently might save you from future headaches.

Based on what you described, I'm also leaning towards replacing the USB port as the best fix. Alternatively, you could use a short right-angle USB adapter or even a wireless dongle for CarPlay or Android Auto. This way, you won't constantly worry about the connection getting loose.

If your car supports CarPlay, you could consider getting a wireless CarPlay adapter. This plugs into your USB port and can be secured down to reduce movement. A wireless connection would definitely make things easier! Just note that this option won’t work with Android phones.
