My Games Started Lagging Out of Nowhere—Help!

Hey everyone, I'm not super tech-savvy, so I really appreciate any help you can offer. About two weeks ago, all of my games just started running poorly, even games like vanilla Skyrim that used to perform great. I'm using a 9070 Steel Legend card with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core processor and 32 GB of RAM. Just last week, everything was working fine on ultra settings. My drivers are up to date, and I've checked that nothing is running in the background that's using up resources. I've also got around 600 GB free on my C drive. Any guidance would be really appreciated!

I found the problem! It turns out my Windows graphics settings had defaulted to my CPU’s integrated GPU instead of my actual 9070. Once I switched that, everything started working perfectly again!

It sounds like your system might be running on the CPU instead of detecting your GPU properly. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. First, try updating your graphics driver again to make sure.
2. Check if your graphics card is lighting up.
3. Reseat the power cable connected to your graphics card.
4. Carefully remove the graphics card and reinstall it, making sure everything is connected properly.
Remember to turn off the power supply and unplug it before you do any of this!

You might want to boot into your BIOS to see how your motherboard is detecting the GPU. Look for an option to disable the integrated GPU (iGPU) to ensure it defaults to your 9070. If you're still having issues, try switching the 9070 to a different PCI-E slot while keeping the same BIOS settings. Also, check if your 9070 needs the older 6/8 pin power connectors or the new 12 pin. That could be an issue.
