I'm exploring upgrade options for my current i5 12400 F processor. My motherboard is an ASRock H610M-H2, which supports CPUs up to the 14th generation. I would love any recommendations or advice on what to consider for an upgrade!

What do you mainly use your setup for? I recently upgraded from a 10600k to a 12700k and it's been amazing! It really gives me some breathing room for a future upgrade to a 14700 or 14900. But keep in mind, I have a z790 board because I wasn’t sure about the VRM reliability on those entry-level 610 chipsets. I also enjoy tweaking my CPU settings!
If you come across a good deal on a 14600 or 14700, those could be solid choices. Just keep in mind, anything like the 12600 or 13600 may not be much of a leap from the 12400. Also, definitely remember to update your BIOS before swapping out your CPU!
The 14700k could be a great option, but it really depends on what graphics card you have. If you’re rocking something like an RTX 5070, that upgrade could be worth it!
