My PC is Overheating—Can I Fix It Myself?

I've been dealing with my PC overheating, and it even shut down on me once. I tried turning it on briefly to check for damage but didn't leave it on long. I don't know a ton about PC repair, but from what I've read, it seems like the CPU cooling fan might be failing or the thermal paste could be old. I'm somewhat handy and open to learning, but is this something I can fix myself, or should I take it to a professional? If DIY is possible, how do I find a cooling fan that will fit my setup? I appreciate any help! My rig isn't top-of-the-line, but it's been a lifesaver for me.

First, make sure the CPU fan is actually spinning when your PC is running. Is this overheating a new issue or something that's been going on for a while? Also, what's the spec of your PC? If the cooler needs replacing, it’s usually not too hard to swap out.

The fan is definitely spinning. This overheating only started about a week ago, but it has been getting progressively worse. Here's what I know about my specs: Gaming RDY SMRVRG201 case, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, 16GB RAM, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, and a liquid cooler.
