Can I Use an 8-Pin Cable on a 4-Pin Motherboard Port?

I'm currently swapping out my old motherboard, which has an ATXPWRAP port with an 8-pin connection, for a new one that only has a 4-pin ATX12V port. Will my existing 8-pin cable still work with the new motherboard, or do I need to make any adjustments?

I haven't come across the term ATXPWRAP before, but if you’re trying to plug an 8-pin ATX12V/EPS CPU cable into a 4-pin port, it should work perfectly! Just leave the unused half of the connector hanging. Most power supplies come with split connectors for exactly this reason, so you’re all good there!

Thanks for the reassurance! Just to clarify, I have a pretty cheap motherboard, and I'm worried about compatibility. So, I can use the same cable and not fry my system? It looks similar to my GPU cable.
