Why Does My Computer Say ‘Checking Media Presence’ on Boot?

I've been having an issue with my computer where it restarts unexpectedly during gaming. After the restart, it plays a repetitive noise and shows a message saying 'Checking media presence.' Eventually, it says 'no Operating system found,' but after another restart, it boots up normally. Now, it's showing the 'Checking media presence' message every time I turn it on, but without the 'no Operating system found' message. How can I fix this? I'm using Windows 11 and would appreciate step-by-step instructions since I'm not very tech-savvy. Thanks!

It sounds like your computer might be having trouble locating the boot drive. This could be due to a loose connection or a failing drive. If you're comfortable with it, open up your desktop and check the connections on your system drive. Just make sure to power it down first!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll try to check the connections, but I’m a bit worried about opening the desktop since it's not mine.

It's also possible that your BIOS settings need some attention. You can access BIOS when your computer starts up, usually by pressing a key like F2, DEL, or ESC right after you power it on. Just navigate through the menus carefully to check if the drive is recognized. Don't worry, as long as you don’t change anything critical, it should be fine!

I’ve heard that messing with BIOS can be risky. Is there a way to check if the drive is connected without going into BIOS?
