My company is finally considering moving away from VMware to reduce costs, and I'm looking for recommendations on alternatives. We're primarily a Windows environment but are open to Linux hypervisors as well. What options do you think we should explore?

Definitely check out Proxmox or Nutanix! They can vary in cost, but Proxmox is open source and popular among users. Just be sure to weigh your budget and the scale of your environment when deciding.
If you’re running Windows, Hyper-V is a fantastic choice. It’s reliable and integrates well with the tools you probably already use, plus you might not need to invest in additional software since it’s included with Windows Server.

Nutanix might be a stretch budget-wise, but Proxmox is solid and doesn't lock you into a commercial model.
