I'm in the market for a reliable non-RTX GPU to pair with my Alienware AW2725DM monitor. My budget is $809, and I could really use some recommendations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

For your budget, you might want to check out the RX 9070 XT. It's solid for gaming and performs well at 1440p. If you're considering Nvidia, the RTX 5070 is an option too, though it's less powerful than the 9070 XT.

If you're leaning towards the 5070, it definitely has better upscaling technology and frame generation, which could be worth it. Plus, if you plan on using ray tracing in some games or any CUDA applications, the 5070 would be the better choice. Otherwise, for pure raster performance, the 9070 XT is excellent.

I have a 5070 RTX 12GB in mind too. Do you think it would work well with my i7 9700K and 16GB RAM?

Absolutely, that setup should run smoothly. The 12GB will give you plenty of headroom, especially at 1440p.

I own an RX 9070 XT and an RTX 4080 Super, and honestly, the AMD card holds up pretty well. You might be happy with it!

Honestly, why are you avoiding RTX? Ray tracing can enhance the gaming experience significantly if you’re into that.

I just don't like ray tracing at all. It’s not my thing.
