Can I use a 45W charger for my 65W laptop?

I'm traveling this weekend and I forgot my work laptop charger. I have a charger for my personal laptop that fits, but it's only 45W while my laptop needs 65W. The voltage is the same (19.5V for both), but I'm wondering if using the 45W charger will cause any issues. Should I overnight my original charger or can I get by with the 45W one? I'm really just looking for some advice on whether it's safe to use or if I might run into problems.

Just stick with the 45W charger since it matches the voltage. It'll work, but like others said, expect it to be slow. You can also use lower wattage chargers, just be cautious with the voltage! 😜

The 45W charger will definitely charge your laptop slower, and if you try using it while powered on, you might find it losing power instead. But overall, this shouldn't harm your device.

As long as the voltage of the charger matches your laptop (which it does), you're safe to use it. Just be aware that it can charge very slowly. In some cases, it might not even boot up if the laptop is drawing too much power. Better keep it plugged in and don't run intensive tasks!

Using the 45W charger won't damage anything, but don't expect it to provide power at the same rate. Your laptop will likely run slower or may even discharge if you're using it heavily while charging. Just keep an eye on it, and you should be okay!

You might want to check your laptop's manual for acceptable charger specs. It's generally fine as long as the voltage is the same or lower. Remember, if you plug in a charger with higher voltage, you could risk damaging your laptop.
