I've recently gotten AirPods Pro 3 and really enjoy using them. However, I've noticed that when I connect them to my custom-built PC, the audio quality is noticeably poor and very tinny. I'm not sure if this is due to Apple trying to limit functionality outside their ecosystem or if my Bluetooth adapter, which is USB 6.0 connected to a USB 3.0 port, is causing the problem. Is there a way to improve the sound quality, or do I need to invest in a physical PCIe Bluetooth card?

You might want to try turning off the microphone input for any Bluetooth devices in your Sound Settings. When the audio connection is two-way, it can really degrade the quality.
I don’t have AirPods personally, but I've noticed that Bluetooth headphones can show up as either 'headset' or 'headphones.' If it shows as 'headset,' it likely uses the mic, which messes with the sound. Make sure to disable the mic to improve your audio quality!

I checked, but I don't see an option when I click on my connected device from the sound settings.
