Should I Upgrade to the RTX 5060 for My Budget Gaming PC?

I'm trying to upgrade my budget gaming PC since my GPU recently died. My current specs are an Intel Core i5-10400F CPU, a GTX 1650 with 4GB VRAM, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a Corsair CV550 PSU, and an MSI B560M motherboard. I mostly play indie games with some AAA titles but do most of my gaming on consoles, so I don't want to spend a ton of money. The RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM is about 350€ in Greek stores, but I've heard mixed opinions about it not being future-proof. Is the RTX 5060 a reasonable choice for my needs, or should I consider other alternatives?

Honestly, for a mix of indie and some AAA gaming at 1080p, the RTX 5060 can still do a decent job. Sure, it may not be future-proof, but for low to medium settings, it should perform alright. Just keep in mind that some newer titles might push the limits of 8GB VRAM.

I wouldn't recommend the RTX 5060. It has only 8GB of VRAM, which might not hold up well in the future, especially as games get more demanding. If you can stretch your budget a bit, look for something with 12GB VRAM instead, like a B580. It’ll definitely give you more longevity.

But isn’t my 550W PSU a limitation? I'm not sure if I can handle more demanding cards.

If you're considering where to buy, check German stores. They usually offer decent shipping rates. Italy might be fine as well, but always compare the shipping costs to see what's best for your budget!

Good to know! I’ll check those options out.
