Hey everyone! I recently had a pretty scary experience with my PC. My setup includes an Asus TUF 570X Plus Wifi motherboard, a Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU, a Hellhound 9070XT GPU, and a Corsair 850Rmx Gold power supply. Today, my computer crashed unexpectedly. The fans didn't spin up, but the motherboard LEDs were still lit and the power button was glowing. However, I noticed a burnt smell coming from both the GPU and PSU. The smell from the GPU seems to be fading, but I'm pretty sure the PSU is toast. A friend is coming over tomorrow with a PSU tester, but I'm really worried that other components might also be damaged. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

It's definitely possible that other components could be affected, especially if the PSU is compromised. If I were you, I'd swap it out for a new one straight away. Diagnosing the rest of your parts without a working power supply will just complicate things. Once you have a new PSU, you'll be in a better position to see if the GPU or any other parts are still functioning.
If your PSU is relatively new, check if it's still under warranty. You might be able to get a replacement without spending extra. If it’s older, like mine was, you’ll just have to bite the bullet and get a new one.
Ugh, mine's about 3 years old, so I think I'm out of luck there!

Thanks for the advice! I wasn’t sure if I should start testing things after the crash, but it sounds like a new PSU is the way to go.
