Is a system reboot covered by warranty?

My computer started getting a blue screen after the latest Windows update, and none of the troubleshooting options are working. I've tried running a few commands, but it looks like the update messed something up. Since I bought it just 8 months ago, will this issue be covered under the warranty if I take it back to the shop?

Rebooting is one thing, but you're looking to reimage your system, which is different. Most warranties won’t cover that kind of OS issue. However, reimaging is something you can do yourself with a bootable USB; just look up how to create one for Windows.

Did your computer come with a warranty booklet? That's where you should check the specific terms to see what is and isn't covered.

If you're able to boot into Windows or Safe Mode, check the Minidump folder in C:Windows for crash logs. Those dump files can provide insight into the BSOD. Once you find them, zip the folder and upload it to a file sharing site, then you can reference those when seeking help.

It's a bit tricky. Typically, warranties cover hardware issues rather than software problems. The best way to find out is to contact the retailer or manufacturer directly and ask them about your specific situation.

Honestly, I doubt it. Most warranties don’t cover OS issues, so you'll probably need to troubleshoot it yourself or get help from someone.
