Issues Starting Azure VM in East Zone 1

I'm having some trouble starting one of my virtual machines in Azure. I keep getting an error message saying, "We do not have sufficient capacity for the requested VM size in this zone." I'm curious if anyone else has faced this problem. Interestingly, my other VM in the same location is working fine. It's been about three hours now since I started trying to get this resolved.

Switching the VM to a D4as_v4 type resolved my issue. I was using a B4ms instance before, which hadn't caused any problems in the past, but apparently, Microsoft wanted it shut down unexpectedly.

I've heard that B series SKUs are being phased out. Maybe that's part of the problem.

The cloud is definitely feeling the effects of hardware shortages. If you haven't secured reservations for your workloads, you might find things getting pretty shaky soon.

What's causing all this? Is the demand just too high for the usual hardware?

Yeah, Azure has been facing a lot of capacity issues lately. We've had to shift our deployments to other regions because of it.

I faced a similar issue today in the US East 2 region. Tried various family SKUs but nothing worked, so I ended up copying the VM to South Central.
