I'm having trouble with my motherboard (Micro-Star B550M-A PRO) and RAM configuration. I've got 8GB of DDR4 RAM in one slot which works perfectly, but I'm having issues with a newly purchased 16GB module. Although the new RAM has a Micron logo and is labeled as DDR4 16G 2666MHz, it prevents the system from passing the Power-On Self-Test (POST) when installed. I've tried numerous combinations with both sticks, and it seems the system stays black during booting with the new RAM installed. I've also cleared the CMOS and checked the installation. I'm stuck wondering if the new RAM is defective or just incompatible with my motherboard. Any ideas on what I could try?

It sounds like you've already done some solid troubleshooting. One thing to consider is testing the new 16GB stick alone in both slots to see if one of them functions with it. Sometimes a motherboard just won't play nice with certain RAM configurations, even if it technically should. Also, defective RAM isn't uncommon, so if it doesn't work on its own, that might be the issue. Don't forget to reseat the RAM too; it can make a difference!
Good point! We did try different slots with the new RAM alone, but no luck there either. Reseating is definitely on the list of things to try again.
