Do I need to install GPU drivers before putting in my new 5070ti?

I'm about to install a new 5070ti on my fresh rig, but I'm using the integrated graphics from my CPU for display. I've heard that it's better to install the GPU drivers before physically installing the graphics card itself. Is this really necessary or just a rumor? I've been told the 50xx series 1.0 drivers can be unstable, so I want to make sure I start with the latest drivers. Appreciate any insights!

You don’t have to install the GPU drivers before putting in the card. Windows will handle basic display output with default drivers just fine. Modern GPUs are typically compatible with BIOS, so you shouldn't run into issues without drivers installed first.

It's actually a good idea to load the drivers before setting up the GPU. Here’s what you can do: First power off your PC and install the GPU without moving the HDMI/DP cables yet. Boot it up, and make sure it loads the OEM drivers instead of the default Microsoft ones. After the right drivers are in place, connect the cables to your GPU outputs and set up your monitors through the GPU software. Finally, go into the BIOS to disable integrated graphics, save and restart.

Can you explain why this process is recommended? Seems a bit complex!
