I'm ready to replace my Samsung S10e and a 2016 ASUS laptop. I've done quite a bit of research, but I'm feeling lost. I might check out a store like Best Buy, though I worry they'll just try to push what they have in stock. Here's what I'm looking for:
For my phone:
- I want an Android device with a 3.5mm headphone jack (my car doesn't support Bluetooth, and I'm not getting a receiver).
- A fingerprint sensor is a must.
- It should be a newer model that can last me around six years.
- I'm interested in environmentally friendly options, including refurbished devices.
- I prefer mid-range processing power and camera quality to keep costs manageable.
For my laptop:
- It must be from Lenovo, ASUS, Dell, or HP.
- I want it to come with Linux preinstalled (I'm making the switch).
- A touchscreen would be great.
- Like the phone, I'm open to refurbished options and want mid-tier processing power (something along the lines of an Intel i5).
My budget is under $900 for each device. I understand that sometimes spending more means better quality, but I'm also considering that older models can be just as good as newer ones. I'd appreciate any straightforward advice or recommendations from tech-savvy folks on whether I can find what I want these days. Thanks!

Getting a Bluetooth receiver could really expand your phone options. Look into the Nothing CMF or Fairphone if they fit your vibe! But remember, finding a Linux laptop may limit your choices within your budget.
The Redmagic 11 Pro is one of the few flagship phones left with a headphone jack, and it fits your budget. Keep an eye on it!

Have you thought about using a USB-C adapter? It could open up more phone choices for you!
