I just picked up a used PC and while I was cleaning it, I discovered some foam under the M.2 drive. I'm not sure if this is typical or if it's something else, like thermal tape. I found it quite thick too. Has anyone else encountered this? Just curious!

It seems likely that it's a thermal bridge meant to help dissipate heat to the motherboard. Those drives can get really hot! Just check it to make sure it's doing its job and not causing any issues.
