Why did switching RAM slots fix my booting issue?

I've been having trouble getting my new computer build to boot up, but I found that simply switching the RAM around in different slots actually resolved the issue. I'm curious about the mechanics behind this—how does moving the RAM sticks around affect the boot process?

It sounds like you might have had the RAM sticks in the wrong slots initially. Different motherboards have specific slots for RAM that need to be filled in a certain order. If the RAM wasn’t seated properly, your CPU might not have been making good contact, which can lead to boot issues.

I had no idea the slots mattered! I thought you just throw them in and it works. My friend usually builds my PCs, but I want to learn how it all fits together.
