I've been facing a strange problem with my laptop lately. Just a week ago, my battery got stuck at 48% and wouldn't charge at all. It started going down instead, dropping to 41%, then 38%, and now it's at just 18%! Is there any way to fix this? I'm open to suggestions!

It's likely that your battery management system thinks your battery is failing, which could cause it to lock the charge to prevent damage. You can either replace the battery, which is the safest route, or try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it—this might reset the management system. Just a heads up though, if there's an underlying issue like a dead mosfet on your motherboard, you'd still face the same problem with any other battery you try.
You can try running a battery report through the admin Command Prompt. Just type in 'powercfg /batteryreport' and see if it generates a report. This will show you the current maximum capacity of your battery compared to its original design capacity. If your battery has really degraded, the best option might be to replace it.
