Power Outage Caused Issues with My PC – Help!

I just had a power outage at home, and now my keyboard and mouse aren't responding. The system managed to boot to the Windows login screen, but I can't click on anything. I've tried entering the BIOS to start in safe mode, but that doesn't seem to work either. I even removed the CR32 motherboard battery and put it back, but that didn't do anything. I noticed that the GPU fans aren't spinning, and there's a red CPU light on my motherboard. I'm really confused about what caused this and what steps I should take next. My computer is connected to a surge protector, but I'm unsure if that provides enough protection against potential damage from a power surge.

Surge protectors can sometimes fail to protect against all surges. You might want to invest in a UPS for better protection. It's also odd why you went straight to resetting the CMOS; that might have worsened the issue. If you’re on an AMD system, wait for memory training to finish and try to access the BIOS to restore your settings. Unplug your PC from the wall, hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and boot. Check if your USB ports are responding after that. If not, they might be damaged.

Yeah, resetting the CMOS did complicate things for me too. After I found my recovery key, switching my mouse and keyboard to the front USB ports worked for me. Just a heads-up, I still have a second monitor that won’t turn on, and it always boots to BitLocker recovery now. My GPU fan is still not spinning.
