Looking for Help with My First PC Build

Hi everyone! I'm diving into the world of PC building for the first time and want to create a gaming rig that's capable of handling most games without any issues. While I'm not too concerned about having the highest graphics settings and am fine with playing at 1080p, I really need help figuring out what specifications to choose, especially since I'm quite a newbie in this area despite spending a lot of time gaming on my current setup. I found a useful site called PCPartPicker to help me with part compatibility and pricing.

My budget is between $1000 and $1500, excluding peripherals like the mouse, keyboard, and headset. Here's the build I've put together so far on PCPartPicker:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- **CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte A520 K
- **Memory:** G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB
- **Storage:** Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB
- **Graphics Card:** Radeon RTX 7800 XT
- **Case:** Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case
- **Power Supply:** MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5
- **Monitor:** LG 24MR400-B 23.8"

I'd really appreciate any advice on whether this build is solid or if there are better options out there. Please explain everything in a way that's easy to understand—like a tutorial. Thanks in advance for your help!

For your budget, going with the AMD Ryzen 5 is a great choice! It's solid and should serve you well for gaming. Just a heads up, some people suggest considering the Ryzen 7 or even the newer Ryzen 5 models, since the Ryzen 4 series won't allow for upgrades down the line if you ever want to enhance your build. So if your budget can stretch, that might be worth it!

Thanks for the feedback! I see that I have the Ryzen 5 5600X—should I be looking at the 7600X instead?

I put together an alternative PCPartPicker list for you that fits your budget and includes some upgraded components:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
- **CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE
- **Motherboard:** Gigabyte B650 GAMING X AX V2
- **Memory:** Silicon Power XPOWER 32 GB DDR5-6000
- **Storage:** KingSpec XG7000 2 TB NVMe SSD
- **Graphics Card:** XFX Speedster Radeon RX 7800 XT
- **Case:** Montech XR Wood ATX Mid Tower
- **Power Supply:** Montech CENTURY II 850 W 80+ Gold
- **Monitor:** Cooler Master GM2711S 27" 1440p

This comes out to about $1494.81 and includes some nice upgrades that should help with future-proofing your setup!

Are these just suggestions for upgrades, or do you think my original build should be reconsidered because these parts are better?
