I recently switched to Linux Mint Cinnamon on my laptop, which has both an integrated Intel graphics card and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060. I installed the NVIDIA driver via the Driver Manager, but whenever I launch a game, it defaults to the Intel card and runs at just 1fps. The NVIDIA card doesn't even appear in the game settings. I also tried installing the NVIDIA driver directly from the Nvidia site, but it's asking for a proprietary key, and I'm not sure what that means. I'm contemplating either reinstalling Linux or giving up on gaming altogether.

Have you tried checking the terminal with 'nvidia-smi'? Also, ensure that Secure Boot is disabled and that you've rebooted your PC after installing the drivers. It might be worth asking in Linux Mint forums for more tips!

When I run 'nvidia-smi', it says 'NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.' The latest driver is installed, but I think Secure Boot is still enabled, and I can’t figure out how to disable it.
