Help! My Computer Keeps Freezing and I Have No Idea Why

I'm not very tech-savvy, but yesterday my computer just froze while I was using Excel, which I rely on for work. I waited about 10 minutes to see if it would come back to life, but no luck. I had to force shut it down and restart, but it froze again within minutes. After repeating this process five times, I decided to unplug it and leave it that way for the rest of the day. This morning, I plugged it in, entered the recovery key, and ran multiple diagnostic tests, all of which said everything was fine. I even reinstalled Windows and checked for memory issues, but no problems were found. I'm really stumped and don't know what to do next since every search leads me back to the same tests I've already done.

Have you thought about taking it to an IT service? They can really dig into the hardware and find issues that may not show up in diagnostics.

This is a small family company, we don’t have an IT department. Some folks have their own computers, but it's mostly laptops.

How long have you had the computer? If it's pretty new, there might be some kind of warranty you can use.

I've only had it for a couple of months.

You should check the Event Viewer for error logs at the times when your computer crashed. That might give you clues about what's going wrong.
