I accidentally spilled some chocolate smoothie near my PC's power supply unit (PSU). A bit of the smoothie got inside through the area where the power switch is located. Thankfully, my graphics card and motherboard are okay. I'm a bit embarrassed to tell my parents about it since they just bought me a new RX 9070 XT and monitor. Is there a safe way to clean it up? I've seen a lot of warnings about the risks, but I think they're overblown. There's only a small amount that got in.

Honestly, the best bet is to get a new PSU just to be safe. You could explain to your parents that it's way better to replace it than risk any dangerous issues with electricity. Better safe than sorry, right?
The warnings about potential danger are serious; don’t underestimate how dangerous electricity can be! If your PSU is running fine, leave it as is until you can replace it. But definitely don't try to open it up yourself unless you want to take the risk.

I turned it off immediately after the spill and haven't turned it back on. I'm going to check it once things dry out. I just need it to last me for a couple more years until I can buy a replacement. Do you think dried smoothie could be an issue when it heats up?
